Indonesia's elected President, Prabowo Subianto, expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the country's athletes who achieved outstanding results at the Paris 2024 Olympics, winning gold and bronze medals. He also extended his gratitude to all the Indonesian athletes and officials who participated in the event.
"It’s an extraordinary pride to see the Merah Putih [the national flag] flying high and Indonesia Raya [the national anthem] resonating at the Paris Olympics. Thank you for your remarkable efforts, Veddriq Leonardo, @VeddriqL, for winning the gold medal in rock climbing, and to Rizki Juniansyah for also achieving a historic milestone with the gold medal in weightlifting," Prabowo stated on his X account on Friday, August 9, 2024.

In addition to Veddriq and Rizki, Prabowo also acknowledged Gregoria Mariska Tunjung for her impressive performance, which earned her a bronze medal in badminton. He appreciated Gregoria's achievement.

"Not to forget, appreciation for Gregoria Mariska Tunjung, @geugouia, on winning the bronze medal in women's singles badminton," he remarked.
Prabowo also took a moment to thank all athletes who have fought valiantly during the Olympics. "Thank you to all the athletes and national pride officials who have strived at the Paris 2024 Olympics. For those who are still competing, our spirit and prayers accompany you," he expressed.
"You are true inspirations for future generations to continue to glorify the name of our nation and beloved homeland. Proud!" he added.
It is noteworthy that Indonesia secured two gold medals at the Paris 2024 Olympics. The first gold was won by Veddriq Leonardo in rock climbing speed, while the second gold came from Rizki Juniansyah, who excelled in weightlifting in the 73 kg category. Meanwhile, Gregoria Mariska Tunjung clinched a bronze medal in badminton.
