The scan feature is a recent addition to WhatsApp, enabling users to scan various physical documents seamlessly. Once a document is scanned, it can be saved as either a PDF or a digital image and sent to contacts without the addition of a watermark.
This scanning feature is accessible on both Android and iPhone devices, and remarkably, it doesn’t require an internet connection to function, making it convenient for users in all situations.
Here are the steps to scan a document on WhatsApp:
- Open the WhatsApp application.
- Navigate to the chat where you want to send the scanned document.
- Tap the plus (+) icon located at the bottom left to access the attachment menu.
- Select "Document."
- Click on "Scan Document."
- Your camera will automatically open; position it over the document you wish to scan.
- The app will automatically detect the document's edges and allow you to take the photo.
- After capturing the image, WhatsApp displays the scanned result, giving users the option to edit it by cropping, adjusting colors, or rotating.
